DIY: Candle Lamp

03:48:00

Hey guys, I have long been asked to create DIY blogs for all the gifts I make. So finally I have decided to do so. Here I am starting with this cute Candle Lamp, you can either gift it to your friends and family or you can decorate your room with it. It’s easy to make and really affordable.

Things You Need                    Qty

Primary Items:
-Small sized fish bowls                                     2
-White Spray Paints                                          2
-Votive Candles                                                 2
-Wide Ribbons                                                Vary
-Black Permanent Marker                               1

Minor items:
-Scissors
-UHU (tube)
-Needle and thread

I have chosen blue color for contrast because it’s my favorite but you can have any other color you like the most or according to the theme. For e.g. for Valentines day you can do it with Red!

STEPS:

Step 1: Paint the fish Bowls
Go to some empty space in your home and put old newspapers on the floor. Place the fish bowls upside down on the newspapers. Start spraying it from the top (The paint will start dripping clear it with some rough cloth ASAP). Spray it until it smoothly covers the whole bowl. Let it dry for at least about an hour. Nope don’t touch it before! -In case the paint goes wrong don’t panic you can easily remove it with any dishwasher by putting the bowl in warm water.-

Step 2: Make the Bow and Neck Tie
Take the ribbon and wrap it around the top portion of the bowl cut it and sew the ends. Then make the bow for one bowl and sew it with the ribbon that is going to cover bowl’s top. Now put some glue on top and then stick the ribbons on it.

For the other bowl first put some glue on the top portion take a piece of ribbon and wrap around it like a necktie, cutting the bottom to a point to complete the effect.

Step 3: Finishing up

With the help of the permanent marker draw the cute faces as you like them. Take the candles lit them and drop the candle’s melting wax inside the bottom of the fish bowl. Lastly stick the candles on the wax. You’re done now!

Approx Cost: $55
